I have lived in East Tennessee my entire life. I’ve recently finished graduate school, and I practice as a social worker in the community.

As a young woman and young professional, I have been greatly impacted by the law because I’ve been able to access reproductive health and preventative health services st minimal out of pocket cost during a time in my life when I haven’t had much money to spare.

A friend of mine, working her way through school to become a physician’s assistant, gets her healthcare through the marketplace , and she’s only able to afford the plan because she qualifies for a subsidy. She has several more years of schooling before she has achieved her goal of completing her degree. My hope is that there is still a way for her to afford health coverage.

In my personal and professional life I encounter many folks who benefit from the ACA, and I think we need a healthcare plan that reduces the cost of healthcare for people because is key to one’s ability to work, take care of their family, and thrive. I think we must do whatever is necessary to help out our neighbors in this way, and I hope you consider helping your fellow Americans and Tennesseans.

Despite having had insurance before the ACA, my coverage and care have improved because of the law. Many Americans’ lives have improved because of the law, and I am asking you to vote against the repeal of the Affordable Care Act. You have a heavy burden of representing all constituents in your district, and I implore that you respect my voice and the voices of many Tennesseans.
